Belgaum Small Scale Industries Association (BSSIA), in their fervent zeal to assist and develop this sector, decided to institute Belgaum Material Testing Centre (BMTC) in 1996, with a prime objective of providing quality facilities for material testing, calibration of gauges and instrument and inspection of various components and Jigs and Fixtures, at an affordable cost, to the industrial fraternity in and around Belgaum district.
10.To arrange for third party inspection, in case customers of the entrepreneurs demands it.
The small and tiny scale industries in and around Belgaum were facing difficulties, in obtaining proper facilities for material testing and calibration of instruments and gauges, due to the dearth of standard and reliable testing laboratory. They had to reach far off places like Mumbai, Pune or Bangalore for this purpose, which was time consuming and prohibitively costly. BSSIA, in their fervent zeal to assist and develop this sector, decided to institute BMTC in 1996, with a primary objective of providing quality material testing and metrology services at an affordable cost.
In the year 1999, BMTC commenced its operations with the Chemical (Ferrous), Physical (Ferrous & Non-Ferrous) and foundry raw material testing facilities. The customer response to these facilities was overwhelming and sustained, for obvious reasons, “Proximity, Reliability and The Quality of Service”. This attainment, inspired us to set up modern Metrology Laboratory equipped with latest calibration and inspection equipments, in the same year. BMTC has, since taken rapid strides, in short span of time, if the climbing graph of its progress is any indication!
